Get to Know Jeremy Devito

Veteran. Father. Servant Leader.

Jeremy Devito is a dedicated husband, father, and public servant running for Congress in Alabama’s 5th District. He lives in Athens, Alabama, and brings a lifetime of service and a passion for community to everything he does.

Originally from Clarksville, Tennessee, Jeremy served seven years in the U.S. Army, including four on active duty in Special Operations as a Tactical PSYOP Sergeant with 4th PSYOP Group, 9th Battalion, C Company out of Fort Bragg, NC. He is Airborne qualified, trained in Spanish, and completed two combat deployments to Afghanistan and one humanitarian mission to Haiti.

After his military service, Jeremy continued giving back—chairing a nonprofit that helps connect veterans, serving on the executive committee of the Limestone County Democrats, and working as a procurement professional in the private sector, where he focuses on responsible spending and operational integrity.

In his free time, Jeremy enjoys designing custom apparel, graphics, and merchandise for personal projects and close friends. Whether he's cheering at a soccer match or tending to his houseplants, he brings creativity and care to everything he does.

Jeremy’s campaign is grounded in a simple North Star: real leadership means service. He believes in integrity, accountability, and courage—and he’s running not to be just another option, but to restore trust in government and fight for a future where every family has a fair shot. He’s not a career politician—he’s your neighbor, and he’s ready to take back our House.

Core Values

In the Army, leadership is built on action, not just words. As a Psychological Operations Sergeant, I was trained to lead decisively, communicate with purpose, and navigate complex situations with clarity and focus. We learned that integrity earns trust, courage drives progress, empathy builds connection, and accountability keeps us grounded. These aren’t just military values—they’re leadership values, and they’re exactly what I’ll bring to Congress.

Integrity

Integrity means doing what’s right—even when it’s inconvenient, unpopular, or unnoticed. For a politician, integrity is about honesty, consistency, and moral courage. It means keeping your word, owning your mistakes, and refusing to be bought, swayed, or silenced by special interests. A leader with integrity doesn’t chase headlines or polls—they follow a compass rooted in truth, accountability, and service to the public good.

Courage

Courage in a politician means standing firm in the face of pressure, speaking hard truths, and making decisions that serve the people—not just the powerful. It’s the willingness to challenge broken systems, confront injustice, and lead with conviction, even when it’s risky or unpopular. True courage is not about bravado; it’s about showing up every day for what’s right, especially when it’s hardest.

Empathy

Empathy is the ability to truly listen, understand, and care about what people are going through—even when their experiences are different from your own. Empathy means putting yourself in others’ shoes, shaping policy with compassion, and fighting for those whose voices are too often ignored. It’s not weakness—it’s the strength to lead with heart, humility, and humanity.

Accountability

Accountability means owning your decisions and standing behind your actions—win or lose. For a politician, it’s about being transparent with the public, answering tough questions, and never hiding behind excuses or blame. True accountability builds trust. It means putting the people’s interest first and ensuring government works for the public, not just behind closed doors.
